Community Governance Aotearoa goal is to support 100 not-for-profits with all board governance capability guidance and expertise.
Throughout Aotearoa New Zealand our not-for-profits are facing huge challenges with a shortage of resources, time, and reduction in access to funding. This puts pressure on our community organisations while the demand for services keeps growing.
Our boards need good governance capability that is tailored to their needs – by community, for community!
The Good Governance Board Service package is an extension of our national action plan initiative “The Mentoring Service” and is part of a suite of governance programmes Community Governance Aotearoa offers.
We are asking our funding community (Philanthropic Trusts, Councils, Sponsors) to provide funding to community organisations to access quality expertise and capability services through the Good Governance Board Service. Over six months and at a cost of $10,000 per board (equates to approximately $1,500 per board member) the service includes tailored support with an expert governance leader and access to a range of resources based on the Good Governance Code . The Code, is grounded in te ao Māori to create stronger and more effective governance practice.
