Our first Board Talk on AI technology!
What advancements are there in the technology sector and what does it mean for our sector?
For our June Board Talk we had two Microsoft leaders joining us: Dan Te Whenua Walker (Global Partner Solutions) and Hilary Walton (Technology Strategist); as well as Ant McMahon (Technology Strategist, Target State Consulting). Together we explored innovations in AI, what impact this may have, and what does it all mean?!
Dan is a leader in business development and relationship management with an extensive background in the IT and tech sectors. He has a particular passion for how tech can be utilised for Māori and Pasifika community and economic development. Dan is the Deputy Chair of NZ Māori Tourism, Pou Tuarā of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Ruanui and a variety of advisory and community trustee roles around Auckland.
Hilary works as a Technology Strategist with Microsoft New Zealand and hosts the Digital Culture Ideas podcast. Hilary is passionate about making a positive impact in her community and industry noted through the many keynotes and webinars she delivers, and through the communities she is part of and the businesses she mentors. Hilary is currently an Independent Member of the Christchurch City Council Audit and Risk Committee and was previously on the Board of Regenerate Christchurch.
Ant is a seasoned technology strategist and the driving force behind Target State Consulting. With a knack for transforming complex tech challenges into strategic plans, Ant is a respected voice in the sector. Ant currently serves on the board for Camp Quality and holds a variety of advisory roles with community based and not for profit organisations.
