The Nationwide Governance Programme is a collaborative partnership between Community Governance Aotearoa and Mentoring Foundation New Zealand, initiated to help develop the governance ability of our community board members with guided one-to-one mentoring.
A few key points about the Nationwide Governance Programme:
- The programme is free (includes $2,500 of value per person) and runs for six months.
- Mentees will undergo a mix of online/face to face mentoring and have regular catch-up meetings with their mentor.
- Mentees will be supported with good governance training modules.
Programme Background:
In 2021 Community Governance Aotearoa partnered with the Mentoring Foundation NZ and Volunteer Kāpiti to trial a pilot governance programme with the Kāpiti community. In 2022 Community Governance Aotearoa and the Mentoring Foundation NZ delivered 100 board members from across Aotearoa with governance mentoring to support their skills and grow their governance capability.
In 2023, we were joined by 135 board members from the following regions: Central Lakes, Southland, Marlborough, Northland, Gisborne, Wellington, Dunedin, Taupō, South Waikato, Taranaki and Online.
