Community Governance Aotearoa (CGA) is pleased to announce a change in board leadership, with Theresa Roigard appointed as the new Chair. Theresa has been deeply involved with CGA since the inception of its Te Ao Māori Advisory Board, and has played a pivotal role in guiding the establishment of CGA as a new charitable entity. Her appointment as Chair marks the next step in strengthening CGA’s commitment to inclusive, culturally grounded governance across Aotearoa.
CGA extends its sincere thanks to outgoing Chair, Hemi Rolleston, for his dedication, leadership, and contribution to the organisation’s growth.
CGA’s Chief Executive, Rose Hiha‑Agnew says, “I’m looking forward to working with Theresa as we look ahead to another year of meaningful progress and partnerships.
In 2026, CGA’s focus remains firmly on strengthening partnerships, growing capability across Aotearoa’s community sector, and supporting organisations to embed good governance and effective management practice.
With the collective efforts of Theresa, the Board, and the entire CGA team, the organisation is well positioned to drive meaningful, sector‑wide improvements for communities across Aotearoa.
