Community Governance Aotearoa and Te Tumu Paeroa have partnered to create a video series designed to support good governance to help develop the capability of owners of whenua Māori to self-govern and administer their whenua. The videos are conversational, with tips and guidance on navigating our often challenging and rewarding roles as governors.
In celebration of Matariki, Community Governance Aotearoa and Te Tumu Paeroa are holding an online launch event to celebrate those who serve Māori organisations in their governing roles.
Tumu Whakarae Community Governance Aotearoa Rose Hiha-Agnew says, “We are really proud to have these resources on hand, they are fabulous taonga available for our community to enjoy.”
A lot of time, effort (and fun) has gone into making these videos, we want to especially acknowledge and thank Te Tumu Paeroa’s team and Community Governance Aotearoa’s Te Ao Māori Advisory rōpū.
The Māori Governance Video Toolkit is a National Action Plan initiative. The video series covers relevant subjects for governors (such as the common things that can go wrong and what is best practice governance).
While there are existing resources for Māori governors, they are not always easily accessible. This video series can be shared to your friends, whānau and community, and add them to your own governance toolkit.
Success is that our videos will equip Māori governors for their governance roles.
