Join us for Data Talks: A three-part online series

Data governance is already happening. The question is whether communities are part of the conversation.

Join us for a three-part online series exploring how communities can lead, govern, and protect their data in a changing digital world.

We’ll explore what we already know, what we can learn from community experience, Indigenous knowledge, and global practice, and how these insights can help shape the future of data governance in Aotearoa.

Data is everyone’s responsibility, and we can all help shape how it is governed.

These sessions are guided by experts in their field and designed as conversation starters. Each session includes a short presentation followed by facilitated discussion and breakout conversations.

This series is not about having all the answers yet. This series is about recognising that our communities have valuable insights, experiences, and aspirations that should help shape how we govern data and artificial intelligence.

This series forms part of a wider journey toward developing a Community Data Governance Code for Aotearoa in 2027.

We encourage everyone who serves community organisations – boards and management, not-for-profits, Māori committees and entities to attend and invite young people from their organisations to take part.

Free to attend. Join the conversation. Shape the future.

Youth Q&A Drop-In Session

Following each webinar, Rose will host a 15-minute drop-in session for young people, youth board representatives, and youth-led organisations. This informal space is designed to debrief, ask questions, share reflections, and continue the kōrero. Separate registration is required for the Youth session.

Free to attend. Register now to join the conversation.
